Contract B

Contract B (Contract 60739 - Honoré Mercier Bridge, Design-Build Project for Deck Replacement North of Piers 32, E1 and W1 (2009-2011)) is a design-build contract that covers work related to replacement of the deck of the Honoré Mercier Bridge from the north abutment on Montreal Island to piers 32, E1 and W1 on the South Shore. The contract will be awarded following a public call for tenders.

The Corporation has, as a first stage, issued a call for Expression of Interest to determine which prospective proponents are genuinely interested in being awarded Contract B. Expressions of Interest were received on May 11th, 2009, and the prospective proponents who have submitted an Expression of Interest are hereafter listed:

  • Construction Frank Catania & Associés Inc. et Structal

  • Construction Garnier Ltée

  • Kahnawake Consortium (OHL Construction Canada Inc., OHL (Obrascon Huarte Lain) S.A., Decarel Inc., Groupe ADF Inc., L.A. Hébert Ltée)

  • Pomerleau – Demathieu & Bard S.E.N.C.

  • Simard-Beaudry Construction – S.M. Inc.

  • SMSI (Socodec Inc. – Mohawk Structural Ironworkers)

  • Verreault / GTS

The Corporation then invited these seven proponents to prepare and submit a qualification application.

Upon receipt of six qualification applications, the Corporation selected the three best qualified firms based on the eligibility requirements and the selection criteria. The following three proponents were qualified to submit a tender for Contract B:

  • Pomerleau – Demathieu & Bard S.E.N.C.

  • Simard-Beaudry Construction – S.M. Inc.

  • SMSI (Socodec Inc. – Mohawk Structural Ironworkers)

The tenders, consisting of Technical and Financial Proposals, were received on February 5th, 2010 and will be evaluated in the upcoming weeks.
